‘Future Directions in History Teaching and Learning and the Role of the EMC’ – The East Midlands Centre for History Teaching and Learning AGM 2022 and Workshop
14th September 2022 – online event
The Northampton inaugural EMC AGM workshop and conference took place on Wednesday 14th September 2022.
The workshop was based around interactive sessions, discussion groups and panels. Topics and themes could be suggested by participants before the event, and voting took place for the topic of most interest to participants.
The aim of the event was to explore how the the EMC can best respond to the needs of its members in the face of the most pressing of contemporary issues of sustainability, inclusion and equality in History teaching, during the tenure of the University of Northampton as host.
This conference offered a space to discuss what the shift towards these new measures and strategies means for the History profession and for History degrees.
At the event, we looked at the audience-selected themes of PGR and Early Career Researcher experiences of teaching, the future of History degrees, and the development of the EMC in the coming years.
